The HYTEC VPI 3331 is a fast and efficient VME Controller for IBM PC/AT and compatible Hosts. The unit is designed to port slave VME I/O modules registers and memory areas into the Host’s address space. The interface is mapped into I/O space on the PC/AT and is compatible with System Board DMA controllers. A Simple to use CATY–VME high level language has been developed for MS–DOS to permit Engineers, Programmers and Technicians to easily access VME modules in the crate for development, and testing purposes. CATY has been derived from the ever popular, well established CAMAC CATY, and can be used in a similar manner to create instant access to the systems slave modules.
